Mrs. Lorena M. Martin, age 88, a resident of the Covington community for many years, who had been residing at 1922 E. Washington St., in Indianapolis for the past several years, died at 7 a. m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at her home. Mrs. Martin was born Feb. 7, 1873, in Parke County, the daughter of Thomas and Barbara Gray Ratcliff. She was married to Lawrence Martin, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Clifford of Veedersburg Rt. 2, and Virgil of Ladoga Rt. 2; a sister, Mrs. Anna Coleman of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call.  --typed by Walt W

Born Feb. 7, 1873, in Parke County, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ratcliff.  She I was married to- Lawrence Martin, who preceded her in death.  She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons Clifford of Veedersburg Route 2 and Herschel of Ladoga Route 2; a sister, Mrs. Anna Coleman of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home.  The Rev. Donald Wade officiated with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. - jz
