Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Jesse Harold Martin, age 59, of DeWitt, Ariz., a former resident and brother of Clifford Martin, Veedersburg Rt. 2, died unexpectedly Saturday night, March 12, of a heart attack. He had been in failing health for several years. He was born Sept. 25, 1900, the son of Lawrence and Lorena Ratcliff Martin. He graduated from Covington High School in 1919 and then attended DePauw University in Greencastle. He also served in World War I. He was married in Arizona to Minnie Lee Rasco. At the time of his death he was serving as county superintendent of the schools in DeWitt. Survivors include his wife, two sons and a daughter in Arizona; two brothers, Clifford of Veedersburg Rt. 2, and Virgil of Ladoga; and his mother, who lives in Indianapolis.  --typed by Walt W
