Attica – James Floyd Martin, 68, retired farmer of the Pence community on Williamsport Rt 3 died unexpectedly of heart attack while watching the wresting matches in Columbian park at Lafayette at 10 p.m. Wednesday. His wife was with him. Born in Warren County, he was married at Pence in 1913 to Mae Briggs and was a member of Pence Methodist Church and Modern Woodmen of America. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Frank of Attica and Robert of Attica R 3; five daughters, Mrs. France Dunavan of Rossville, Ill; Mrs. Edith Kincade of Marshfield, Mrs. Vivian Baird of Pence, Mrs. Rosemary Traviolia of Downey, Calif and Mrs. Virginia Nolin of Williamsport and brother Lester of Pence. – kbz

James Floyd Martin, 68, of Williamsport Route 3, died unexpectedly at 10 p.m. Wednesday (July 19, 1961) of a heart attack while watching wrestling matches in Columbian Park at Lafayette.
A retired farmer, he had resided most of his life in the Pence community.
He was born in Warren County Feb. 20, 1893.
Mr. Martin was a member of the Pence Methodist Church and Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving are the wife, the former May Briggs whom he married Dec. 21, 1913; two sons, Frank and Robert of Attica; five daughters, Mrs. Frances Dunavon of Rossville, Ill., Mrs. Edith Kincade of Marshfield, Mrs. Vivian Baird of Pence, Mrs. Rosemary Traviolia of Downey, Calif., and Mrs. Virgil Nolin of Williamsport; a brother, Lester of Pence, and 17 grandchildren.
Two daughters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pence Methodist Church, the Rev. Everett White and the Rev. Lowell Morris
