Mrs. Emma Martin Services Friday- WINGATE- Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Martin, 85, Wingate, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Mrs. Martin died about noon Monday in the home of her son, Lewis Martin, in Jacksonville, Fla. She lived the greater part of her life in Veedersburg, but seven years ago moved to Wingate to live with a daughter, Mrs. Harlan Gilkey. Rev. Delbert Smith of the Wingate Methodist Church will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery at Veedersburg. Friends may call at the Servies Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday.

Veedersburg - Mrs. Emma Martin, 86, died at noon Monday at Jacksonville, Fla. She had gone to Florida in October to spend the winter with her son, Lewis. She was born and reared here and was married in 1892 to John W. Martin who preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Christian Church and DAR.  Surviving besides the son, Lewis is a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Gilkey of Wingate. She had lived in the daughter's home for seven years. The body will be returned here for burial.

Services will be held today Friday Dec 5 for Mrs. Emma Martin, a life resident of Veedersburg who passed away Monday noon at the home of a son, Lewis in Jacksonville, Florida where she was spending the winter. She was stricken with a stroke Sunday.  Born in Veedersburg she was a daughter of Elijah and Mary Phoebus Osborn. She married John W. Martin and he proceded her in death about 40 years ago.  Mr. Martin was in the Lumber business in Veedersburg until his death.  Mrs. Martin had resided in Veedersburg until the past few years when she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mildred Gilkey of Wingate. The daughter and son survive along with four grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Veedersburg and the DAR. The services will be held at 1:30 at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Delbert Smith officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg.
