Covington, Jan 11 – Mrs. Ella Martin, age 70, widow of Dr. EJ Martin, prominent dentist of Covington, who died about 10 years ago, passed away at 5 o’clock Tuesday morning here from a heart attack, following a brief illness.  Born at Winchester in eastern Indiana Dec 13, 1870, Mrs. Martin was the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Rhodes Plamett (Planett). She had lived in Covington many years; however, while her husband practiced his profession here. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  Surviving are three sons, Dr. JP Martin of Covington and Dr. Rudolph E. Martin of Culver, both dentists and Edward Martin serving with the Nation’s Armed Forces; and three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Boggs of Sarasota, Fla; Mrs. Charles Robb of Covington and Mrs. Louis French of Kouts.  Mrs. Allen Hickman living near Newtown a granddaughter was reared by Mrs. Martin. There are also 12 other grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian Church here Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Charles Serber, former minister of the church in charge.  The body will lie in state at the Crumley Funeral Home until one o’clock Friday an hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery near Covington. – kbz
