MARTIN, Charles d. 1950 - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Charles Martin, 74, died at his home in Brook last Sunday morning at about 10:00 a.m. after having been confined to his home for several months by heart trouble.  Mr. Martin spent his childhood on the family farm south of Brook where he was born.  For several years, he operated the Brook Bakery.  In 1899 he was united in marriage to Olive Moore who died in 1938.  He was married to Mrs. Mary Wooley in November 1939.  Surviving besides the widow are a son, Delmar and five grandchildren. Donald. Norman. Bernard. Richard and Candace Martin of Attica; three sisters, Mrs. William Kough of Kewanna, Mrs. Lillie Hamacher of Valparaiso and Mrs. Rosie Dean of Brook and two brothers, Thad and Ernest of Brook.  Funeral services were held at the Hershman Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Williams of the Christian Church officiating and burial was made in Riverside cemetery. – kbz
