Miss Catherine E. Martin, 79, of 807 S. Green St., died Saturday night in Culver Hospital, where she had been a patient one day. She had lived at Ben Hur Nursing Home previously. Miss Martin was an art teacher in Crawfordsville City schools 27 years and a member of the Indiana Art League, Wesleyan Service Guild, Antique Study Club, AAUW, Tri Kappa and First United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Ball State University and earned her masters at Ohio University. Born Nov. 27, 1892, in Attica, she was a daughter of Owen Allen and Elizabeth Springman Martin. Survivors include a brother, Rev. Allen Martin, who is director of St. James Episcopal Church in Vincennes. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at first United Methodist Church with Rev. Frank L. Little officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. Friends may call at Bright and Burkhart Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Monday.
