MARTIN, Ben C. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Ben C. Martin, age 75, of Wingate Rt. 1, died Wednesday night, July 6, at his home after an illness of two months. He was born March 29, 1891, where he had resided all his life. He was the son of T. E and Lizzie Fisher Martin. He was married Sept, 4, 1912, in Newtown, to Eva Marie Dodge, who survives. He was a member of the Richland Masonic Lodge of Newtown, was past worthy patron of the Newtown Order of Eastern Star 282, a member of the Past Matrons and Patrons Association and a member of the Richland Twp. School Advisory Board. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are; one daughter, Mrs, Edith Robinson of Newtown; three sons, John of Wingate, H. Lowell of Indianapolis and Lloyd C. of Newtown; one sister, Mrs. Louella Bacon of Newtown; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Arthur Schenck officiated and burial was in the Newtown Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
