Covington – Funeral services for Mrs. America S. Martin, 86, who died Tuesday at her home in Covington were held Thursday at the residence with the Rev. George W. Beatty of Terre Haute officiating. Born April 2, 1859 in Fountain County she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Durkin (Dicken). She had been a life resident of Fountain County. Her husband, Edward W. Martin preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Farrell Williams of Covington, two grandchildren, Frances Catherine at home and Robert in the armed forces; a great granddaughter, Carol Ann; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Coffing of Covington.
Note: She died May 15, 1945.
