Dr. Floyd (Lloyd) Porter Marshall was born in Fountain County, Indiana on July 25, 1880 and died Sunday, December 26, 1943. He was a son of Andrew and Melissa Marshall. His survivors are two sons, Edgar L. Marshall of
Ryderwood, Washington and Sgt. George W. Marshall of the US Army Air Corps, overseas; one brother, William A. Marshall of Tacoma, Washington and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Piper Funeral Chapel with Rev. rank Haley presiding. Burial was at Winlock, Washington under the direction of the Cattermole Chapel, the Masonic Lodge conducting graveside ceremonies.
Porter spent his boyhood and school days in Veedersburg and Sterling schools, where he had many dear friends and companions, and where he featured in athletics as the ace baseball pitcher (a southpaw) with the
school team. At an early age, he was employed by the Clover Leaf Railroad for six years in Veedersburg then for six years was with the Northern Packific Railroad in Montana and idaho. In 1918 he graduated from the Pacific Chiropratic College of Portland, Oregon and thereafter practiced as a Doctor of Chiropractic in Tacoma, Washington where he established an extensive clientele and left a host of friends. --transcribed by kbz
