David John Marr, age 67, a resident of the Covington community for seven years who formerly resided in the Osborne Prairie community, northeast of here, died unexpectedly at 4:30 p. m. Sunday, April 16, at the farm home of Lee Corey, after being stricken ill. Mr. Marr and his wife had been at the Grover Rice home and were driving home when his auto got stuck in the snow near the Corey home. He went into the home to seek help in getting his car out, when he was suddenly stricken and died. Fountain County Coroner Ralph Nelson, Veedersburg, attributed his death to a coronary occlusion. Mr. Marr was born July 21, 1893, the son of John E. and Mollie Redman Marr on an Attica Rt. He was married Oct. 4, 1911 to Blanche Auter, who survives. Mr. Marr had been a carpenter for the past 15 years and had been a farmer before that time. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge of Attica. Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald J. Marr of Covington; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Wright of Lafayette, Mrs. Mary Abold of Mellott and Mrs. Eva Green of Veedersburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and a brother. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon, April 19, at the Covington Baptist Church. The Rev. Glenn Ray officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery at Attica with the Hegg Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were: Code Galloway, Homer Galloway, Grover Rice, Fred Rice, Marian Keller, and Clennie McGaha.  --typed by Walt W

David John Marr, 67, of Covington, succumbed to a coronary attack Sunday about 5:30 p.m. (CDT) at the residence of Lee Cory.  Mr. Marr had become stuck in the snow and after trying to push the car out, walked to the Cory residence which is four miles east of Covington.
A carpenter, Mr. Marr was born to John E. and Molly (Redman) Marr on July 21, 1893 at R. R., Attica.  He was married to Blanche Auter on October 4, 1911.
Mr. and Mrs. Carr had resided in the Osborn Prairie community most of their married life, during which time Mr. Marr had been a farmer by occupation.  They had moved to Covington seven years ago.
He was a member of the Modern Woodman of Attica.
Surviving are the widow; a son, Donald J. Marr of Covington; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Wright of Lafayette, Mrs. Mary Abolt of Mellott and Mrs. Eva Green of Veedersburg and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents,  four sisters and a brother.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. (CST) Wednesday at the Covington Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Ray officiating with interment in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. - jz
