Glenn H. Marquess, age 74, a native of Fountain County and father of the late Lee Marquess of Covington, died at 8:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at his home in Wingate. He had been in ill health four years and seriously ill for one month. He was born Nov. 29, 1888 in Shawnee Township, Fountain County, the son of George and Eliza Ferguson Marquess. He was married March 6, 1907 to Emma Lawson, who survives. He lived in Texas for six years following his marriage. He was a resident of Covington and the Portland Arch community for many years. He moved to Tangier in 1941 and resided there until 1961 when he and Mrs. Marquess moved to Wingate. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: four children, Mrs. Elsie Brown of Gessie, Carl E. Marquess of Crawfordsville, Mrs. William (Ida Lois) Stonecipher of New Richmond, and George L. Marquess of Marshall; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was the last of a family of three children. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Lee of Covington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. Rob James, pastor of the Wingate Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Mt.
