COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) -- Gale Chester Marquess, 69, of Glen Ellyn, a former resident of the Covington area, died at 5 p.m. Monday ( Oct. 8, 1973) at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born Jan. 16, 1904, northeast of Covington, he was the son of Claude and Jessie Stucker Marquess. He was married to Mary A. Langbein, who survives. Mr. Marquess was a graduate of Covington High in 1921. He also was a graduate of the University of Illinois and Illinois Law School. He had been an attorney in Glen Ellyn for 42 years. He was a past president of the DuPage County Bar Association and a past president of the Rotary Club. He formerly served as a magistrate in DuPage County and retired in 1972. Other survivors include two daughters, a son, a sister, Mrs. Inez Bodine; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Leonard Memorial Home in Glen Ellyn. Friends will be received there from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside rites will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Miller will officiate. The family has requested that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Heart Fund.
