MARLATT, Nancy Matheny

Mrs. Nancy Marlatt, wife of George Marlatt, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Hartman, near Stockwell, Friday at 2:30 a.m. at the age of 83 years and 19 days. She was the daughter of Thomas and Abbie Matheny and was born in Butler County Ohio March 78, 1843. She was united in marriage June 26, 1865 to George Marlatt and to the union eight children were born. A daughter, Hattie preceded the mother in death 40 years ago. Mrs. Marlatt was a true and faithful wife and mother and had a wide host of friends. Surviving besides her aged husband are the following sons and daughters: Amos Marlatt, Otterbein; Mrs. Martha Hartman, Stockwell; Mrs. Abbie McCullough, Battle Ground; Jesse Marlatt, Logansport; Harry Marlatt, South Bend; Mrs. Gertrude Brugh, Parshall, ND and RG Marlatt, Liabrel, Kas. Mrs. Marlatt also raised two orphan nieces of her husband, the Misses Elizabeth and Minnie Nollan. Surviving besides are 27 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the Hartman Home. Interment will be in Pretty Prairie Cemetery near Battle Ground. - kbz
