Mrs. Mary Josephine Marlatt, age 90, a native of the Covington community and aunt of Mrs. Henry (Hazel) Rowe, who resides south of this city, died at 1:30 a. m. Sunday, July 22, at the State Hospital in Peoria, Ill. Mrs. Marlatt, who was born Aug. 17, 1873, south of Covington, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Lewsader, had been a resident of the Peoria and Dunlap, Ill., area for the past 65 years. She was married to Barton Marlatt, who preceded her in death in 1925. She is survived by four nieces and three nephews: Samuel E. Lewsader of Lafayette, Mrs. Florence Yerkes of Danville, Ill., Claude Lewsader of Okamos, Mich., Mrs. Rowe of Covington Rt. 1, Mrs. Eleanor Hurt of Springfield, Ill., Mrs. Veda Leach of Bedford and Don Lewsader of Lansing, Mich. Short funeral services were held today, July 25, at the Christian Church in Dunlap, Ill., with the Shriner Funeral Home in charge. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, south of Covington, with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge of local arrangement. --typed by Walt W
