ATTICA, Ind. -- John Ollie (J. O.) Marlatt, 88, formerly of Attica, died at 1:30 p.m. yesterday (Feb. 8, 1968) in the Danville Care Nursing Home where he had been a patient four years. Born May 19, 1879, in Otterbein, Ind., he was a son of Charles and Wilmina Meredith Marlatt. He was a life resident of the Attica area. He was a former livestock buyer and merchant, retiring in 1941. He was married Feb. 15, 1911, in Attica to Nellie Lee Sims who preceded him in death March 13, 1967. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Wilmina Haas, Danville, and a granddaughter. Mr. Marlatt was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Attica, the Attica Chamber of Commerce and the Attica Rotary Club. He had been a director of the Attica Building & Loan Association, Attica Farmer-Merchant Bank. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. (EST) Sunday at the Roemer Funeral Horne in Attica. The Rev. Donald Ashley will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends will be received at the Attica Funeral Home 3-5 and 7-9 Saturday. The Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements in Danville.  --typed by Walt W

Funeral services for John Ollie (JO) Marlatt, age 88, a retired livestock buyer and merchant formerly of Attica, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Roemer Funeral Home here.  He died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday Feb 8 (1968) in the Danville Care Nursing Home. The Rev. Donald Ashley officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery here.  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary Wilmina Haas of Danville, Ill and one granddaughter. He was a member of the Fist Methodist Church of Attica, the Attica Chamber of Commerce and the Attica Rotary Club.  He had been a director of the Attica Build & Loan Association and the Attica Farmer-Merchant Bank. – kbz
