MARKSBURY, Alton - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Marksbury, Alton D born Sept 10, 1887 in Fountain County, Indiana passed to his reward on Oct 5, 1990.  He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1920.  He is survived by his daughter, Lilion Powell of Albuquerque, son Blayn Marksbury and wife, Mildred of San Diego, Ca; grandsons James of San Diego, Ca; Daniel and Matthew of Dunlap, Ca; granddaughter, Rachel of Dunlap, Ca.  Mr. Marksbury was preceded in death by his wife, Maude in 1981.  After coming to Albuquerque in 1920, Mr. Marksbury began teaching at the Western School for Secreteries in 1921. He became the Dean of their Business Training Section and continued in that position until the closing of the school in 1969.  Mr. Marksbury was a member of the Heights First Church of the Nazarene for 69 years.  He was a charter member of the Gideons International.  Services will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. at Heights First Church, 8401 Paseo del Norte NE, with Rev. Conley Henderson, Rev. Ernest Armstrong and Rev. Gary Whitmore officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
