MARKS, James Scott

KINGMAN - J. S. "Scott" Marks, 94, retired truck driver, died Wednesday morning in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville, where he had been a patient a few days. Mr. Marks was a 73-year member of Kingman Masonic Lodge 314, a member for more than 50 years of Kingman Chapter 204 OES and a member of Wallace Low 12. He attended Bloomingdale Academy. He served as an inspector on the election board for 62 years. A native of Liberty Township in Parke County, he was born March 22, 1877, a son of Thomas W. and Rachel T. McCoy Marks. He was married Aug. 25, 1897, to Elsie Laughlin. Surviving are a son, Thomas of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, four daughters and a son. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Woodrow Funeral Home here with Rev. Larry McMillan officiating. Burial will be in Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. Friday. Masonic rites will be conducted at the funeral home at 9 p.m. Friday. - jlr
