JAMES G. MARKS, aged 34, died at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth hospital in Lafayette from injuries received in an accident at the Wild Car bridge on the Buck Creek road east of Lafayette Monday night shortly after 10 o’clock.  Marks was riding from Lafayette to Buck Creek in his buggy accompanied by James Cooper.   As they were crossing the bridge two young men on a motorcycle passed and frightened the horse.  The animal shied and the buggy struck the side of the bridge, tearing off a wheel and throwing both men from the vehicle.  Marks landed  on his head and  was rendered unconscious.  Cooper sustained a bad gash in his right leg.  The young men on the motorcycle stopped and Cooper told them to rush to Lafayette and procure an automobile to take Marks back to the city. He was taken to the hospital where it was found that his skill was fractured.  The deceased was a well known stock buyer being associated with his father, Aaron Marks, in the business. Deceased is a cousin to the Marks’ in this vicinity. - S
