COVINGTON – Richard D. Marble, age 65, of Covington Rt. 2, died at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, May 9, in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient nine hours. He had lived at his Covington Rt. 2 address for one and one-half years and before that had resided in Danville 30 years. Mr. Marble was born Dec. 2, 1902, in Illinois, the son of John and Florinda Henderson Marble. He had been employed for 18 years at the Lauhoff Grain Co., Danville, retiring in 1964 as yard clerk. He was a member of the Teamsters Local and was the first president and first secretary of the Local. He attended the First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James (Flora) Davis and Mrs. Don (Peggy) Clark, both of Covington, and Mrs. Mary L. Odum of Danville; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Baumgart and Mrs. Phyllis Jenkins, both of Danville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Robert Dorow officiated and burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, north of Danville. – jlr
