Gerald E. “Jerry”
Mann, 66, of3029 S. 18th St., Lafayette, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, September
18, 2000, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born July 26, 1934, in
Fountain County and had resided in the Lafayette area most of his life. He was
a 1952 Pine Village High School graduate and was retired from Aramark (formerly
Howard Vending), working there 50 years. On Dec. 9, 1956, he married Marietta
Nattinger in Boswell, and she survives. Mr. Mann was an Army veteran, serving
from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of American Legion Post 11, Moose, and a
31-year member of Teamsters Local 135. He enjoyed bowling, sports and playing
cards. Surviving with his wife are five daughters, Diana S. (Thomas) Venten of
Lafayette, Tammy L. (Terry) Dowden of Crawfordsville, Diane Peterson of
Florida. Denise M. Mann of Deltona, F1a., and Sharon L. Mann; a brother,
Charles (Margo) Mann of Albany, Ky.; a sister, Evelyn (Robert) Esquivel of
California; two stepbrothers, Keith Mann of Texas and Malden (Gladys) Mann of
Kentucky; four grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Hitze, Ben Dowden, Chris Dowden
and Calib Velten; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Hitze and Bethany Hitze. He
was preceded in death by his parents and a stepbrother. Funeral service will be
at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2000 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400
Twyckenham Blvd. with Pastor Ross Terry officiating. Burial will be at
Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society. – jlr
