Covington, June 23 – Russell Leon Manford, 3 years of age, who suffered injuries when struck by a mower last Friday died at the Lakeview Hospital in Indianapolis at 8 o’clock this morning as a result of his injuries. The little lad was playing in a hay field where his father was working when the accident occurred. Because of the height of the alfalfa, the father was unable to see the child and could not stop the team in time to prevent the machine from striking him. Both of the child’s feet were so badly mangled as to require amputation and the child was rushed to Lake View Hospital where the operation was performed. The shock of the accident and complications which followed the operation proved too great a strain for the little boy.
