Covington, Ind.—Leonard E. Maly, 70, of Anderson, died early Monday (Oct. 7, 1974) at his home. He had been ill a short time. Born July 14, 1904, in Austria, He was the son of Ludwig and Victoria Maly. On Sept. 11, 1940, he married Laura B. Crist, who survives.
A resident of the Hammond area most of his life, he had resided in Anderson the past two and a half years. He was a retired pipe fitter on construction projects. He was a member of Pipefitters Union 597 of Chicago, Ill. Other survivors include a son, Dr. Phillip Maly of Marshfield, Wis.; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Judy) Rowe of Covington Route 2; three sisters, Mrs. Geneva Sutliff of Pickneyville, Ill., Mrs. Amelia Koharko of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Eugene (Violet) Karlowicz of Hammond; a brother, Louis J. of Griffith; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, with Floyd Herron officiating. Burial was in Lower Mound Cemetery.
