MALTSBERGER, Virgil Ernest

Veedersburg -- Virgil Ernest Maltsberger, 72, of Rt. 1, Veedersburg, died at 7 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He had been in failing health seven years and was seriously ill six months. Mr. Maltsberger was a life-long resident of Fountain County and was a retired farmer, retiring in 1956 because of failing health. He was born March 18, 1897 near Waynetown, son of William David and Lillie Little Maltsberger. He was married Jan. 1, 1914 to Zula Frankeberger. Survivors include the widow; a son, Robert (Bob) Maltsberger of Rt. 2, Veedersburg, and a grandson, Merlin Maltsberger, a student at Purdue University. The body was taken to Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home at Covington where friends may pay their respects after 1 p.m. Friday. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Alfred Dobbs and Rev. Thomas Stapp officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington.
