VEEDERSBURG — Robert T. Maltsberger, 50, Rt. 2, Veedersburg, died at 11:20 p.m. Friday at St Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He had been hospitalized for eight days prior to his death and had been in poor health for the past two years. Mr. Maltsberger had been a farmer in the Veedersburg area his entire life. He was a member of Cooper's Chapel Church south of Covington where he had taught an adult Sunday school class for several years. He was a member of the Fountain County Farm Bureau and a former member of the Fountain County 4-H Council. Born Sept. 25, 1913, in Wabash Township, Fountain County, Mr. Maltsberger was the son of Virgil Ernest and Zula Frankeberger Maltsberger. On Jan. 7, 1937, he married Jennie Reynolds. The widow survives. Other survivors are the mother and a son, Merlin, at home. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Rev. Thomas Stapp assisted by Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon on Sunday.  --typed by Walt W

Funeral services were held Monday, August 24, at 2 p.m. for Robert T. Maltsberger, 50, prominent area farmer and Registered Shorthorn breeder, of Veedersburg R. 2, at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington.
The Rev. Thomas Stapp assisted by the Rev. Alfred Dobbs, officiated at the services with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington.  Pall bearers were Ed Gray, Walter Howard, Freeman Robbins, Lamont Orahood, Ray Campbell, and Charles Beasley.
Mr. Maltsberger died Friday night, August 21, at 11:20 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette where he had been a patient  eight days.  He had been in ill health for two years.
He was born Sept. 25, 1913 in Wabash Township, the son of Virgil and Zula Frankeberger Maltsberger. He married Jennie Reynolds, who survives, on Jan. 7, 1937.
Surviving besides his wife are his mother and one son, Merlin, also of Veedersburg R. 2.
Mr. Maltsberger was a member of Cooper's Chapel where he taught an adult Sunday School class for several years before he took ill.  He was a former member of the Fountain County 4-H Council and had been very active in 4-H work.  He was a member of the Fountain County Farm Bureau and had been a farmer all his life.
