MALTSBARGER, Andrew Jackson - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Andrew Jackson Maltsbarger, the 7th child and 4th son of David and Elizabeth M. Tedlock Maltsbarger, pioneer residents of Fountain County was born near Wallace, Indiana April 3, 1863. He died at the home of his niece, Ida Brannon near Veedersburg Nov 30, 1937 at age 74 Years 7 Months 27 Days. He grew to manhood in the vicinity of his birth and lived all his life in Fountain and Montgomery County, Indiana except six years spent in Kansas. He learned the carpenter trade early in life and followed that trade until3 years ago when he operated a small truck farm for George McManegal. Since 1934 when he suffered a slight stroke of apoplexy, he spent his summer months with his niece, Ida Brannon where he died. Andrew Maltsbarger was never married. His father died when Andrew was 7 years old. He then lived with an uncle until able to support himself. His mother died 47 years ago. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by two brothers, Will Maltsbarger of Covington and JA Maltsbarger of Williamsburg, Kansas. Also by two nieces, Ida Brannon and Mrs. R.N. Shaw of Yakama, Washington and 11 nephews. He was not a member of any church but a good moral man and loyal friend. He will be missed by his friends and mourned by his loved ones.
