Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Osborne Prairie Cemetery near Covington, Ind., for Lois Mallett, a former teacher in Danville schools. She died Sunday (Aug. 27, 1978) in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. There will be no visitation. Miss Mallett had taught at Cannon and Jackson grade schools in Danville from the late 1920s until 1942. She then moved to Indianapolis and taught second grade at the public schools until her retirement in 1970. Miss Mallett was a member of the North United Methodist Church and its Wesleyan Guild. She also belonged to the Phi Kappa Phi, Womans Department Club, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Children's Museum and the North Group Symphony Women. She had received a bachelor's degree from Indiana State Teachers College and a master's degree from Butler University in Indianapolis. Miss Mallett was born in Fountain County, near Veedersburg, Ind. Survivors include a brother, Edward of Evansville, Ind., and three sisters. Ann Mallett of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mary Glover of Kettering, Ohio, and Mrs. Helen Dear of Denver. The Flanner-Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary in Indianapolis is in charge of arrangements. The family has asked that memorials be in the form of contributions to the North United Methodist Church, the American Lung Association or to a donor's favorite museum. - jlr
