MAINES, Anna Phebus - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Anna May Maines, 92, a former resident of 407 Park died at 5:30 a.m. today, Feb 26, 1970, in Vermilion Nursing Home where she had been a patient since Jan 5, 1970. Mrs. Mainse was transferred to the local nursing home fromm the Monticello Nursing Home at Mt. Carmel, Ill where she had been a patient 6 years. A native of Covington, Ind, she was born May 2, 1977 (sic - 1877) the daughter of George S. and Elizabeth J. Redenbaugh Phebus. Her schooling was obtained at Covington and she was married there to Leonard Maines, Sr. He died in 1947. Mrs. Maines moved to Danville in 1930 and had resided at 407 Park for 30 years. Survivors include two sons, Leonard of Indianapolis; Gordon of Chipley, Fl; 14 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son and three daughters. The body is at Pape Memorial Home where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Don Goodwin will officiate with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
