Attica – Dennis Edward Mahoney, 90 of Rt 2, a former Attica blacksmith died in Community Hospital, Williamsport, shortly before noon Monday.  In failing health several years he was a patient in the hospital only 8 hours. Born at Providence, RI he was a veteran of the Spanish American War and formerly operated a blacksmith shop in Attica for many years. He was married here in 1895 to Tracey Heit and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Modern Woodmen, Moose and VFW.  Surviving with the widow are four sons, Dan of Greencastle, Jack and Tony of Attica and Dick of Hammond, and two daughters, Mrs. Theresa Hershberger of Attica and Mrs. Judy Short of Battle Ground.

Funeral in St. Francis Xavier Church, Attica at 9 a.m. Wednesday the Rev. Charles Remaklus officiating; interment in St. Francix Cemetery. 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren survive. - kbz
