Carol Mahoney of Danville, Illinois, age 47, was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday morning, June 1, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. She was born in the Grape Creek community, July 7, 1935, the daughter of Glenn E. and Dorothy H. Hathaway Shelato. She was a member of the Cayuga Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her mother of Danville; six daughters, Cindy Dailey and Cathy Pratt, both of Danville, Terry Keller and Pam Mahoney, both of Westville, Illinois, Marsha Peevler of Covington and Lucy Hardin of Sidell, Illinois; two sons, Bill of Anaheim, California, and Don of Westville; her fiancé, Tim Leisch of Danville; two sisters, Mary Andrews of Perrysville and Rita Hoskins of Pence; two brothers, Gerald Shelato of Westville and Brian Shelato of Danville; a half brother, Aden Serepin of Cayuga; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at Lakeside-Urbas Funeral Home in Danville with Rev. Cloyd Kyger officiating. Burial was in Niccum Cemetery southeast of Danville. – thanks to S
