Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Frederick E. MacLean, age 65, Veedersburg resident and a retired painter and decorator, died at 11 a. m. Monday, Dec. 17, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, where he had been a patient a week. He had been in failing health several years. He was an avid basketball fan and wrote the column "Banking 'Em In!" for the Veedersburg News. He was born near Veedersburg May 17, 1897, a son of William and May Grady MacLean. He was a member of the Osborne Prairie Christian Church, northeast of Covington. Surviving are: his 90-year-old mother and a brother, Grady MacLean, both of Veedersburg, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon, Dec. 19, at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. The Rev. George Linton officiated and burial was in the Osborne Prairie Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
