Jamestown—James A. MacKinnon, 65, Route 1, Jamestown, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 1989 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born April 17, 1924 at Noblesville, the son of James and Goldie Gorman MacKinnon. He was married Aug. 15, 1945 at San Francisco, Calif., to Elinor “Kitty” Calvert, who survives.
He was a 1947 graduate of Westfield High School and served as a U.S. Navy pilot during World War II. He was a farmer. He was a member of New Life Christian Church at Lizton and served as a missionary to Kerala, South India.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Jim III, Kevin and Greg, all of Jamestown and Tim, Lebanon; two daughters, Janice Glascock, Veedersburg, and Susan Wahlman, Manchester, Mo.; a sister, Lois McGriff, Muncie, and a grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, David in 1953.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Life Christian Church, Lizton, with John Fletcher officiating. Burial was in Jamestown International Order of Odd fellows Cemetery at Jamestown.
