COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) - Joseph Ford Macgirvin, 88, died at 11:35 p.m. yesterday (Sept. 25, 1969) at his home on Covington Route 1. Born June 3, 1881, in Vermilion County. Ill. he was the son of Joseph and Sarah Taylor Macgirvin. He was married, May 13, 1908, to Mary Ann Stipp, who died Feb. 9, 1957. A resident of the West Liberty community since 1928, he formerly resided in Danville. He had served as a deputy sheriff in Vermilion County, Ill. and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the West Liberty Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sally McArdle of Lookeba, Okla., and Mrs. Belva Whitlock of Covington Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Rella Shuman of Danville; a brother, George of Springfield, Ill., and three grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. EDT Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Burial will be in West Liberty Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today and after 4 p.m. Saturday. - jlr

COVINGTON - Joseph Ford Macgirvin, age 88, died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at his home on Covington Rt; 1.
He was born June 3, 1881, in Vermilion County, Ill., the son of Joseph and Sarah Taylor Macgirvin. He was married May 13, 1908, to Mary Ann Stipp, who died Feb. 9, 1967.
Mr. Macgirvin had been a resident of the West Liberty community since 1928. He formerly resided in Danville, Ill., and he had served as a deputy sheriff in Vermilion County, Ill., and he was a retired farmer. He was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs., Sally McArdle of Lookeba, Okla., and Mrs., Belva Whitlock of Covington Rt. 1; one sister, Mrs. Rella Shuman of Danville; one brother, George, of Springfield, Ill., and three grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by his parents, wife, one son, two daughters, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated and burial was m the West Liberty Cemetery.
