Donald P. Furr, 90, Mellott, died 9:58 a.m. Sunday in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. Mr. Furr was a farm hand for Warren Graves farm, Hillsboro, and was also employed with Nationals Homes and Burger Steel, Lafayette, and Harrison Steel Castings Company, Attica before retiring from Radio Material Corporation at Attica. His memberships included Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. He attended school at Kingman.
He was born Aug. 5, 1912, near Kingman, to Luke and Georgia Fleming Furr. He married Esther Ann Cook Dec. 7, 1935, at Veedersburg. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Donald, Newtown, Marvin, Attica and Terell, Kingman; four daughters, Beverly Levaseur, Fort Fairfield, Maine, Carolyn Coffing, Crawfordsville, Janice Boman, Kingman, Sharon Davis, Wheatland, Calif.; two brothers, Eugene, Danville, Ill., and William, Waynetown; three sisters, Katherine Keller, Lafayette, Mary Margaret Austin, Mellott, and Florence Epperson, Auburndale, Fla.; twenty one grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. One son, three brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter proceded him in death. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call Tuesday noon-2 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of the American Heart Association.

Mellott – Donald P. Furr, 90, died at 9:58 a.m. Sunday Aug 3, 2003 in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. Born Aug 5, 1912 near Kingman, he attended school in Kingman and had lived in Attica, Newtown, Hillsboro and Mellott before moving to Williamsport in January 2001. Mr. Furr formerly worked as a farmhand for the Warren Graves farm near Hillsboro. He also worked at National Homes and Burger Steel, both in Lafayette, Harrison Steel Castings Co in Attica and retired from Radio Material Corp, also in Attica. He was a member of Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed wood working and fishing. He married Esther Ann Cook in Veedersburg on Dec 7, 1935 and she survives and is a resident of Country Care Nursing Center. Surviving with his wife are three sons, Donald William Furr (companion Patsy with whom he resides) of Newtown; Marvin Furr (wife: Ruth) of Attica and Terell Fur (wife: Rita) of Kingman; four daughters, Beverly Levaseur (husband: Bill) of Fort Fairfield, Maine, Carolyn Coffing (husband: Ron) of Crawfordsville, Janice Boman (husband: LeRoy) of Kingman and Sharon Davis (husband: Kenneth) of Wheatland, Calif; two brothers, Eugene Furr (wife: Martha) of Danville, Ill and William Furr (wife: Stella) of Waynetown and three sisters, Katherine Keller of Lafayette (husband: Harold) of Lafayette, Mary Margaret Austin of Mellott and Florence Epperson (husband, Raymond), Auburndale, Fla. -kbz

Friends may call at Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Tuesday Aug 5, Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Surviving are 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Norman Dean Furr, 3 brothers: Everett, Leroy and Kenneth Furr; 3 sisters: Juanita Craft, Betty Furr and Claudine Weber and a granddaughter, Penny Sue Crowder. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of the American Heart Association. Kbz
