NEWTOWN—Miss Betty Jean Furr, 49, a former Newtown resident, died at 2:25 a.m. Monday in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis, where she had been a patient since May. She had lived the last several years in New Castle. Born March 26, 1921 at Wallace, she was a daughter of Luke and Georgia Fleming Furr. Surviving are her mother, of Newtown; six brothers, Everett of Montezuma, Eugene of Stone Bluff, Donald of Newtown, Leroy of Lafayette, William of Waynetown and Kenneth of Oldsmar, Fla., and four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Keller of Lafayette, Mrs. Margaret Keller of Gessie, Ind., Mrs. Claudine Weber of Veedersburg and Mrs. Florence Epperson of Auburndale, Fla. Her father and a sister preceded Miss Furr in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica, with Rev. George Phelps officiating and burial in Newtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.  --typed by Walt W
