Martha Eloise
(Hoffman) Funk, 83, formerly of Hillsboro, and had been residing in Carmel,
died Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at 3:30 a.m. in Riverview Hospital, Noblesville.
She had been hospitalized for one week. Born in Attica on April 9, 1917, the
daughter of Clifford William and Minnie Margaret (Benamire) Hoffman. Eloise
graduated from Attica High School in 1935. She was a homemaker. Eloise was a
member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church and had sang in the church choir.
While living in Carmel, she had been attending the Carmel Christian Church. She
was a 50-year member of Attica Chapter #125 Order of Eastern Star. Her marriage
was to Lewis L. Funk on January 1, 1938 in Attica. He preceded her in death on
December 15, 1977. Surviving, are: one son Michael L. (Judy) Funk a West
Lafayette; one daughter, Judy (Morton) Gest of Carmel; one sister, Eleanor
Fenters of Attica; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was also
preceded in death by a grandson, Dan Gest. Visitation at Maus Funeral Home,
Hillsboro, on Saturday from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. with Rev.
Steve Moore officiating Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorials are
preferred to Hillsboro United Methodist Church or Carmel Christian Church. – jlr
