Marion FUNK, 87, retired farmer for 17 years died at his home, 60 5 E Main St, Attica at 1:15 a.m. Sunday May 15, 1955. He had been in failing health several months. Mr. Funk was born July 6 1867 in Iroquois County, Ill son of Absolum and Phoebe Gibson Funk. He married Elizabeth Hysong Oct 15, 1890. He came to Attica at the age of 18 and spent 50 years as a farmer in Davis Township. Surviving with his wife are five sons: Edward of West Point; George of Wingate; Orville of Lafayette rural route; Lewis of Hillsboro and Jesse of Attica rural route; three daughters: Mrs. Amie Pogue of Newtown; Mrs. Alma Otterman of Attica rural route and Mrs. Bessie Fay of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday afternoon at DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica with the Rev. Wilbert Littrell officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery east of Attica.
