Dorothy Fuller, age 32, formerly of Indianapolis, lately of Hall, Ind., near Mooresville was burned to death but her husband, William H. Fuller, escaped injury, when the truck in which they were riding turned and burned two miles west of Veedersburg about 11:30 p.m. last night.
Mr. Fuller is an independent coal dealer, who hauled from a mine near Rockville. He and Mrs. Fuller had started to a mine to buy coal, but decided to go on to Peoria, Ill., to visit Alfred Pastel, a son of Mrs. Fuller by a former marriage.
About two miles west of Veedersburg, the man who was driving, lost control of the truck. It left the pavement, overturned and burned.
Mr. Fuller escaped without injury but the body of his wife was burned almost beyond recognition.
The Veedersburg fire department was summoned, as were Kelso Cartwright, Veedersburg chief of police, Charles Fishero, Fountain County coroner, and Bob Alenduff, state police officer.
The body was removed to the Fisher Funeral Home in Veedersburg. A coroner’s inquest will be held at 10 a.m. Friday morning.
Surviving besides the husband and the son at Peoria is a daughter by a former marriage, Bernetta Pastel.

Mrs. Dorothy Pastel Fuller, 32 was burned to death late Wednesday night in a freak accident between Veedersburg and Covington on Highway 34 (?). William H. Fuller, 41, husband of the deceased and driver of the truck escaped serious injury. The accident involved no other vehicle except as Mr. Fuller was forced from the highway to avoid hitting an oncoming car. Mrs. Fuller stated early Thursday morning that he could not describe exactly what happened except that when he attempted to pull his truck back on the highway it started to skid and left the highway again on the opposite side of the road and as he attempted to gain control of the vehicle it turned over on the sodded shoulder; and caught fire immediately. Mr. Fuller was able to get out of the burning truck immediately but found Mrs. Fuller pinned by the door of the truck to the ground. He stated that he crashed the windshield and glass of the cab of the truck in his rescue attempts and that several cars passed the burning truck and failed to stop. When aid came and the Veedersburg fire truck was called to the scene the truck was righted but Mrs. Fuller was burned beyond recognition. The Fullers were enroute to Peoria from Indianapolis to see Alfred Pastel and Bernetta Pastel a son and daughter of Mrs. Fuller by a former marriage. The immediate address could not be determined due to the loss of papers in the truck. Coroner Charles Fishero and Bob Allenduff, state policeman investigated the accident and tried to locate relatives of the deceased.
