WILLIAMSPORT — Phyllis G. (Wampler) Freeman, 73, rural Williamsport, died at 8:44 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2007 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1934 in Cayuga, the daughter of Hugh and Letha (Rudd) Wampler. She married Robert L. Freeman Nov. 21, 1951 in Paris, Ill. He survives. She was raised in Cayuga, graduating from Cayuga High School. She lived for many years in Eugene and Wallace and had resided in Williamsport since 1995. She formerly worked for Baltimore Power and Gas Company in Baltimore, Md. She had also worked for several years for Stanley J. Clark in Cayuga. She and her husband owned and operated Wildwood Campground in Wallace for many years. She had owned the. Teddy Bear Kaboodle Craft Store in Hillsboro for many years. She had been a member of the Free Holiness Church as a child growing up in Cayuga. She had been a member of the Eugene United Methodist Church, before moving to Wallace. She loved her crafts and flowers. She was very artistic and had done several paintings. Survivors, besides the husband, include: two daughters, Susan Freeman, Williamsport and Lisa (Troy) Myers, Attica; two sons, Tony Lee (companion Rachelle Rogers) Freeman, Attica and Brian (Sharon) Freeman, Stone Bluff; a sister, Opal Cox, North Salem; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and a brother. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastors Hubert Wilson and Darin Perkins officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prairie Chapel Christian Church or St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.
