Orie Finney Freeman, 74, Georgetown, Illinois, died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 17, at Lakeview Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. He was the father of Robert Freeman of Hillsboro and William Freeman of Veedersburg.

  Born March 25, 1909 in Paris, Illinois, he was the son of William George and Lillian Susan Higgins Freeman. On June 13, 1944 he married Margaret Ellen Ellis, who survives. He retired from General Electric Company as a powerhouse operator in 1973. He was a member of Georgetown Friends Meeting and IAM Union.

  Other survivors include another son, Lt. Commander Russell D. Freeman of San Diego, California; three daughters, Mrs. Jim Elliott of Westville, Mrs. Doug Underwood of Bradley and Mrs. Paul Frost of Port Orchard, Washington; a brother, Harry R. Freeman of Waveland; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

  Services were conducted Wednesday at Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown with Rev. Peggy Caldwell officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm, Illinois. - thanks to S
