FRAZIER, Byron - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Byron Frazier, aged 73, a highly respected citizen of Hillsboro, was called in death Wednesday morning about 5 o'clock, after a ten days illness. He had been in declining health for several months, but was confined to his bed but a short time. He had been a lifetime resident of Hillsboro and vicinity. He was born on a farm south of Hillsboro on January 24 1860, the son of James and Margaret Williams Frazier. He was one of a family of five children, all of whom lived to an advanced age. He received his education in the Hillsboro school and was also a student of the Ladoga Normal. He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Elizabeth Kerr on October 24 1882, she having preceded him in death in September, 1899. Three children were born to this union, all of whom survive. In January 1910, he was married to Miss Lulu Pugh, of Indianola, Ill. He was engaged in farming for a number of years and on retiring from active live moved to Hillsboro, where he has since resided with the exception of spending several winters in the South. He is survived by his widow, one son, Homer Frazier, of Oakland, California; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Graves and Mrs. Ethel Foxworthy; grandchildren; one brother, John W. Frazier of Indianapolis, and one sister, Mrs. Ollie Hesler of Hillsboro. the funeral service will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in the Masonic cemetery at Waynetown.
