Mrs. Ancil Lillian Francis, 71, died unexpectedly at 2:40 p.m. Thursday (Oct 4, 1973) at her business, the Speed Wash, in Covington. Death was attributed to natural causes. Born March 2, 1902, she was the daughter of Charles and Pearl Holland Fleming. She was married Aug. 21, 1919, to Mearl Thurman Francis, who died Jan. 1, 1967. Mrs. Francis was a former resident of Danville and had operated the Speed Wash since moving to Covington in 1960. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Danville. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Filhouer and Mrs. LaVone Bonebrake, both of Danville and Mrs. Sarah Bolen of Marion, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Story will officiate. Burial will be in sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends will be received after y p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
