Henry Foy was born in Hesse Castle, German Nov 24, 1839; died Sept 11,1910 at his home in Bunkertown in Fountain County, Indiana. He was married 3 times, his first wife, Miss Mary Schmitt departing this life many years ago. Three children blessed this union, two having gone on before, the other, Mrs. Elizabeth Lauer of Ashland, PA surviving. His second wife, Mrs. Lena Shaefer, departed this life at Ashland, PA in 1887. He then was joined in marriage with Mrs. Francis E. Beck, July 15, 1891 at Ashland who is left to mourn his departure and who will miss his loving companionship. Two stepson, David and Thomas Beck and two stepdaughters Mrs. Mary F. Peters of Dugger and Mrs. Martha A. Williams of Coal Creek share their mother’s grief. Other relatives who attended the funeral were Wm. And John Evans of Danville and their families. We thank you friends for their kind sympathy during the sickness and death of our beloved husband and father. Deceased was a member of the German Lutheran Church and was confirmed at the age of 14. He was a private in Co H 48 Regt Pa. Vol and was enrolled Aug 23, 1861 and discharged July 14, 1865 at Alexandria, VA. The burial ceremony was conducted by Fremont Post No 4, GAR assisted by the WRC No. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Miles Martin, Minister of the Friends church after which the remains were buried at West Cemetery. –- kbz
