Gilbert Fox, 84, of 37 Pennsylvania, died at 4 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 3, 1974) at Lake View Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient 12 days. He had been ill several years. Born July 17, 1889, in Vermilion County, he was the son of John and Mary Helmick Fox. On April 19, 1925, at Covington, Ind., he married Ruth Norris, who survives. He had resided in Covington from 1929 to 1942. He had resided at his present address since 1942. He was a former nurses aide at the Veterans Administration Hospital, retiring in 1954. His hobbies were gardening and woodworking. Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Miriam) Stinson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Wade (Nell Jane) Price of Chicago and Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Reuther of Danville; a son, Russel N. of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Griffin of Blue Island; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. George Desmond officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Visitation will be at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services. – jlr
