COVINGTON — Robert Ernest Foster, 59, Covington, died at 4:18 a.m. Friday, June 25, 1999 in Provena USMC Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. Born May 17, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa, he was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Stone Foster. He was a shipping supervisor at TeePak in Danville, Ill. for 31 years. He served in the U. S. Marines and the U. S. Navy. He served during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2395 of Covington and the K. of P. Lodge of Covington. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work and his cats and dogs. Survivors include: mother, Elizabeth Foster, Danville, Ill.; former wife Bonnie Foster, Covington; sons, Robert John Foster, Jeffersonville, Ky., Shannon (Danna) Foster, Covington; daughters, Catherine T. Foster, Jeffersonville, Ky., Candy (James) Persinger, Covington; sisters, Jean (Paul) Ricketts, Janice (Tom) Burch, Tangier, Carol (Donald) Anderson Jr., Hoopeston, Ill.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Monday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Danville, Ill., with Tom Dougherty officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park with full graveside military rites by V.F.W. Post 2395 of Covington. Memorials contributions can be made to the Covington Community Foundation. – jlr
