FOSTER, Newman

Source: Williamsport-Warren Review 24 Dec 1896 p 1

On Saturday night about 10 o’clock Newman Foster a prominent business man of Attica for years was found in a dying condition on the sidewalk on Fifth Street.  He said good night to Dr. Case but a short time before at the corner of Zeigler’s Grocery and had been suddenly stricken with heart failure as he proceeded on his way home after closing business.  The dying man was quickly removed to his residence on Sixth Street and several physicians summoned, but his spirit had gone out and their efforts were of no avail.  Mr. Foster was born in Fountain County and was past 52 years of age and highly respected.  The funeral services under the direction of the KP Lodge and preached by the Rev. SP Colvin were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the family residence after which interment was made in Riverside cemetery.   ---transcribed by kbz
