Cates – John B. Foster, 89, retired farmer died at 3:15 a.m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rose Wallace of Cates. He had been ill three weeks. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cates United Brethren Church with Rev. JUC Shrigley officiating. Shelby Funeral Home, Covington will direct interment at Williamsport. Mr. Foster lived all his life in this vicinity. He was born Sept 16 1856 at Clington, Tenn the son of Enoch and Martha Foster and was married in April 1887 to Sarah Conner who survives. He also leave three daughters, Mrs. Wallace of Cates; Mrs. Alice Swamey and Miss Ruby Foster both of South Bend, Ind. There are 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren – dated 1946.
