Dr. Eugene B. Ford, 69, died at 7 a.m. Monday (Sept. 5, 1960) at his home, Covington Route 1, after an illness of seven years. He had resided in the Covington area since 1953.
Dr. Ford was born Dec. 29, 1890, at Tolono, Ill., son of Eugene A. and Josephine Carson Ford. He attended the Champaign school and was.married to Helen Adkins, June 23, 1912.
He was graduated from the Palmer Chiropractic School at Davenport, Iowa, in 1918. He practiced in West Lebanon eight years and in Hammond, Ind., where he operated the Hammond Health Clinic, 25 years. He served as a lobbyist in the Indiana State Legislature from 1921 to 1927.
Dr. Ford is a past president and life member of the Indiana Chiropractors Assn. He also is a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge 37, the Lebanon, Ind., Commandery, the Boone County Council, the Lebanon Kiwanis Club and the Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are Mrs. Ford; a brother, Amos C. Ford, Urbana, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Martha Frazier, Miami, Fla.; a niece and four nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter and brother.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Glenn Ray officiated and burial at the Mount Hope Cemetery. - jz
