FONNER, James R. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

James R. Fonner of Sidell, Illinois, age 71, died Tuesday morning, January 19, in Carle Foundation Hospital at Urbana, Illinois. He was born near Longview, Illinois, December 19, 1910, the son of Elmer and Frances Smith Fonner. April 10, 1938, he married Gladys Cromwell, who survives. He was a retired farmer.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Jewell Catlett of Fairmount, Illinois; two sons, Larry of Covington and Tim of Sidell; three sisters, Kathryn Martin of Savoy, Illinois, Alyce Hays of Holiday, Florida, and Lucille Brazeal of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers, Bill and Harold, both of Sidell; and five grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held this morning (Thursday) at Honnold and Son Funeral Home in Sidell with Rev. Greg Curtis officiating. Burial was in Newman Cemetery.
