FLOYD, Marion - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Marion Floyd, 83, of Wingate died Wednesday morning July 19, 1972 at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He had been ill a year. Born Sept 10, 1888, at Salem, he was the son of Emmett and Mollie Morgan Floyd,. He married Jane Bryant, who died in April of 1965. A retired farmer, he had attended school in Washington county. He had been employed by the Pitman Auto Co. at Hillsboro and the Myers Motor Sales in Veedersburg. A resident of Wingate eight years, he had formerly resided in Hillsboro and Newtown. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Pauline Wrightsman of Wingate and John Floyd, and Lawrence Floyd, both of near Salem. He was preceded in death by a son, a sister and a brother. Services at 2 p.m. Friday at the Crumely-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Walter c. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Newtown.
